JTExpenseBot is a Telegram-based expense tracking application developed by JT. It helps individuals and groups scan, log, and manage their expenses automatically using Google Sheets as a personal database.

Purpose

The purpose of JTExpenseBot is to simplify the process of tracking expenses by automating the logging of receipt information into a Google Sheet.

What JTExpenseBot Does

Users send receipt photos or PDF files to the bot via Telegram. The bot uses Google Gemini AI to extract key details from the receipt — including the merchant name, amount, date, currency, and GST breakdown — and automatically records them into the user's linked Google Sheet for easy tracking and reporting.

Why We Request Access to Your Google Account

JTExpenseBot requests the following Google permissions to function:

• Google Sheets (spreadsheets scope) — to write expense records into your personal Google Sheet and read existing data for summaries and reports
• Google Drive (drive.file scope) — to create new Google Sheets on your behalf when you set up a new expense tracker

We only access the specific Google Sheets that you explicitly authorize during setup. We do not access any other files, emails, calendars, or personal data in your Google account.

Data Privacy

Your Google account credentials are never stored by JTExpenseBot. OAuth tokens are only used during your active session to write data to your authorized sheet. Your Google Sheet remains under your full ownership at all times. You may revoke access at any time via your Google Account security settings.
